N5N1 Flu Vaccine Facility

Novartis, formerly Chiron Vaccines, based in Speke Liverpool, the World leader in Flu Vaccines is a highly valued client of Bassaire. We have undertaken a number of projects on this site. One of the most demanding carried out was the refurbishment of a facility to cater for the manufacture of the new Flu strain H5N1.

This facility was required to meet very tight programming restraints and needed to meet MHRA/FDA compliance as well as incorporating containment levels to comply with ACDP and WHO requirements. The project was completed from initial concept to completion within a 4-month timescale.

"We tasked Bassaire with a project that we felt was difficult to say the least, in fact our own view of the project and the associated timescales was nigh on impossible. Bassaire took on the role of acting as part of the Chiron Team being heavily involved in the design principle to fulfil all the obligations on the project, working with the Quality, Validation, Biological Safety , Engineering and theProduction Department. The facility was completed to a very high standard, on time and within budget and we achieved a successful handover to the Production Department, allowing them to complete their PQ and run a successful campaign.
